Today I'll go pick up my device with a loose screen and take my chances with Sprint.

You've got to be kidding! That is unbelievable!

They don't have phones. They offered me cases - several times.
The dude offered me a case that might cover up the gaps in the glass yesterday. Automotive equivalent - mechanic tells you that you should turn up the radio so you don't hear those new dashboard rattles they installed.

If I was in charge, I'd have bought you a new one.

I'm still not happy. They should take it to Sprint for me, pay for it, then have Sprint call me when it's done.
I'm still going to be out $75. I don't mind paying for shit (remember, I agreed to pay the $150) But for them to throw in the towel and give it back is BS. I wanted them on the hook until it was repaired properly.
My time may not be worth much, but it's worth something.

Where are you located? I'm in New Jersey, and as a repair tech who gives a shit, if Sprint turns you down, I'd offer to fix it for you. What would you pay? Shipping round trip. Am I perfect? No, I can't guarantee that dust would never get in there (in fact, it's incredibly likely after replacing the screen, it would be more likely for this to happen rather quickly), but it would be better than nothing. Hell, if you get yourself an OtterBox, I'll put it all together for you. If I get that bitch apart and find it's not worth it, hell yeah I'll tell you right away. Cell phones suck!
Amazon appears to have the glass+digitizer together (honestly no point in trying to replace just one) and it's cheap.
At the same time, if you say no, I totally understand...after 3+ weeks of this, I'm not sure I would really want to deal with it.

I can't believe it either.
" [apology and PR words] I have talked to the Sprint store here at the mall, and they have recommend that you take your phone to a Sprint repair location.. They will be able to fix your phone for $50, as I have been told and have on a paper that we will give you. We will be giving you the phone at no cost to you so you can apply that 50 dollars towards the fixing of your phone. [more apology and other words] "
I called my local Sprint store, and they said, "It used to be $50, but it went up to $75 a week or so ago, we got the part, c'mon in." Now look at the lead gif.... that's me again, now the hindsight has kicked in.
Good news - All the confusion, phone calls, emails, tweets, and headaches are costing me nothing.

Yay, free good news! And guess what? Worse things can happen in life.

Repair history (in order)
Glass replacement attempt - fail
Full screen replacement - sloppy
Volume button replacement
Ear speaker replacement
How many damn times has this thing been apart now? I know the screen replacement is performed through the back, and the adhesives are a pain in the ass to get correct. I'm not surprised that the lock button works intermittently when I was looking at it yesterday.
Thanks for the offer, I'm going to take it to Sprint. At least they can hand me a new device if they fuck it up. Maybe I can get it back in a few days.

I still have to pay Sprint to fix it. :(
Hopefully they won't return it in the same shape they got it in...

You've been through enough with your phone. I hope it goes well here on out.

Was this an intentional event, like trying to see how long they could go before pissing you off?
Because they really pushed that as far as they could.

Well... I hope Sprint does not get the phone and find other things missing/wrong with it and try to charge you more. You should definitely try to get them to take it to sprint.
I'd be worried about what they did to the phone up to this point.

What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

Exactly. Sprint said it's a flat rate for repairs.
The fear is, if the frame/tabs or other non-repairable parts are damaged from it being taken apart several times. Will Sprint be obligated to replace my device?
I'm guessing not, since they didn't initially screw it up.
Grrrr. This probably isn't the last we'll hear of the wheremyphone tag.

Just call that mgr from the other store, voice your opinions and ask that they see this through to the end meaning they deal with Sprint.
